Grade 8: Joining the Fascinating Clubs
It's a new semester; it’s time for the annual SHSID club registration! On the afternoon of September 9, the club registration was officially opened for the 8th graders.
In 8th grade, there are four categories of clubs: music and art clubs, sports clubs, creative clubs, and “x-clubs”. In the music and art club’s category, A cappella and wind orchestra were truly welcomed. The unique stage presentation with pure vocal performance always amazes the audience. The sports clubs include many select sporting event.
While these two categories of clubs focus mainly on the students’ physical skills and talents, the OM club (Odyssey of the Mind), one of the creative clubs, and MUN (Model United Nations) of the “x-clubs”, focus on building up students’ knowledge as a global citizen. In these two clubs, students are able to express their thoughts either upon one particular question or toward the entire society at various competitions (with teachers’ assistance).
These are just a few examples of SHSID’s vast and exciting campus activities. There are many more fascinating clubs for students to explore. Joining the clubs will grant opportunities to bring out the best in students, to improve their mental and physical capabilities, and enrich their lives after school.
