Puxi Campus Grade One: Great Inventors
This week in Social Studies, we had a very thrilling class. Over the past couple of weeks, the students have been learning about different inventors and their inventions. We discovered that Thomas Edison was the inventor of the light bulb and that Mary Anderson invented the windshield wipers. The students loved learning about these unique inventions that have made the world better. They enjoyed it so much that they decided to give it a go themselves!
Each student had a week to design and create their invention, and we were so impressed with what they developed! They used their creative minds to think of impressive things that would improve the lives of many people. For example, we had the “Spiral Slide,” a slide that transports you anywhere in the world. The “Hotdog Spectacular,” making cooking and assembling hotdogs easier. The “Knowledge Box” includes a hat that will immediately make you smarter. We even had a “Sweet Tree,” a tree that produces candy instead of fruit. These are just a few examples of the many innovative and creative inventions we saw in Grade 1 this week!
