Middle School Biology Department: Exhibition of Excellent Genetics Projects

Recently, the students of 6th grade have been learning about genetics in their science classes. Concerning the students to further understand this topic, the teachers came up with an idea for a paper pet project. The pet contained five features including, eyes, nose, gender, skin color, and teeth. After creating the F1 generation, students used Punnett squares to illustrate the percentage of possible traits for their offspring. On June 9th, 6th-grade science students exhibited their projects. They had shown extraordinary imagination and creativity. Some gave not only the features but also even clothes for their offsprings. Other students created a large poster showing all the details of the project. These beautiful works reflected the depth to which students had mastered this unit in genetics. These 6th graders rock!
