Grade 11: Medieval Swordsmanship

May 25, 2021

As scheduled, students gathered on the morning of Thursday, May 20. Eleventh-grade teachers and students were seated in the auditorium of Xianmian Annex, ready to listen to the speech quietly.

In his speech, Ryan from 11(2) introduced his unique hobby of Medieval swordsmanship. The sport is similar to the fencing we already know about played by two opponents. The difference is that the movements originate from the swordsmanship of the Medieval times, using not only similar weapons and protective gear, but also fighting tactics from that era in history. There were even times when Bai needed to read books to learn specific ways to strike. Finally, he played a video clip of himself practicing with the long sword, calling on everyone to learn more and participate in this unique sport if interested.

At the end of the morning Assembly, the auditorium gradually emptied. We hope that every student can persevere in practicing their interests and hobbies.
