Puxi Campus Grade 4: Science Show for Shanghai Science and Technology Festival—Micro Quest

On May 22 and 23,2021,fifteen young actors from the fourth gradeofSHSIDpuxicampuscarried out the stage performance“Micro Quest”at Shanghai Science and Technology FestivalPutuoDistrictbranch venue. This drama was jointly launched by InstitutPasteur of Shanghai,Chinese Academy of Science and SHSID,lasting30 minutes. It showed the role of various cells in the human body in destroying the viruspopularlyand concretely.It isacurrentscientific explanation. Vaccines play anhugerole in the immune system and advocate the maintenance of healthscience.

Mainstream media such as China Youth Daily, Shanghai Science and Technology News, Shanghai Media Group, and Shanghai Education Television Station reported the performance. They also interviewed the student actors and the guidance teachers.

As an important activity of the Science and Art Section of the Shanghai Science and Technology Festival, this popular science stage show was performed for the public at the Global Harbor branch. The play innovated the display of current science knowledge, creating a strong scientific and cultural atmosphere, leading the audience to approach the virus world from a new perspective.

To ensure the performance quality of the stage play, the young actors in the fourth grade of SHSID have rehearsed for three hours each week since March of this year. The director and screenwriter modified and adjusted the performance of the stage play according to the characteristics of the actors. The script and lines helped the young actors to better digest the lines and feel the charm of the stage.

Before the performance rehearsal, the school also invited a science teacher from the middle school section to systematically explain the role of cells to the fourth-grade students to help them better understand the script.

Participation in this play helped the students discover science in daily life, explain life with science, treat the occurrence and prevention of diseases rationally, and develop better living habits. Advocating science and self-reliance is the overarching theme of this Science and Technology Festival, which coincided with the science show.
