Star Club Election

The annual star-club election is a great event at SHSID. Grades 11 & 12 club members have put in great enthusiasm into the election.

The first round of the 2020-2021 Star Club Election was held during CAS class. Clubs showed their achievements in the past year through a short video. Then, each student was required to complete a popular vote online. The second round of the selection was held at the gate of Xianmian Building from April 8th to April 9th during lunch time. Leaders of various clubs prepared wonderful speeches and performances for this election activity. First, each representative introduced their clubs, especially the achievements they had received in the past few years, face to face to students, teachers, and judges. The number of participating societies is more diverse than previous years. On the first day, the Chinese Debating Club, the EcoCap, the English Debating Club, and the BNH, a non-profit charity, were on stage. The second day's lineup was also filled with star clubs and began with STEM Dog, which hosts many activities on the subjects of science, technology, engineering, and math. There was also L2D, which presented wonderful musical scenes. The two days of exhibition and selection were very impressive and wonderful. All the representatives vividly conveyed the efforts of the club in the past year to the audience, which made the judges satisfied. At the same time, it was a good opportunity to show the students the club activities at SHSID.
