Grade 9: Awareness for Addiction to Electronic Devices

With it being the second semester already, by now, all Grade 9 students have successfully adapted to the typical SHSID weekly routine. During the morning Assembly on April 6th, the students were, as always, occupied with looking at their phones before the Assembly speech. The speaker, Tony Kim, wanting to address this problem, stood up and delivered a prepared presentation about “Addiction to Electronic Devices”.

Certain astonishing facts were revealed during his unique topic. The fact that humans spend twice as long on their phones than they spend eating throughout their whole life shocked many students. One other fact that was especially alarming to students was how phone-addiction-related brain symptoms were exactly the same as how drugs harm the brain. With these facts, the students could now acknowledge why being addicted to phones could harm them.

With that said, the presenter, Tony Kim, hoped the students could understand the importance of fighting electronic device addiction.
