High School Math Department: Six Teams Proceed to the International Round of the 7th Annual IMMC

March 15, 2021

The International Mathematical Modeling Challenge (IMMC) is an innovative contest in mathematical modeling for secondary-school students worldwide. IMMC aims to promote mathematical modeling education and enhance students' core competencies in mathematics and innovation, encouraging participants to explore the application of mathematical modeling in real-life situations to solve problems of importance.

In this year's winter round of the competition, 6 teams from high school established a novel mathematical model for constructing the lunar station and responding to the next wave of global biosafety threats, respectively, through reasonable assumptions and optimization. They also put forward unique solutions based on their own model. Under the instructor's guidance, the teams have made progress in putting forward hypotheses, document typesetting, model testing, writing abstracts, and time management through the preparation in the Mathematical Modeling Club and self-study after class. In this winter round, our school's promotion rate reached 100%, which is the highest promotion rate since 2017.

The international round will be held from March 15 to March 20, 2021. We wish our students good results in the upcoming competition!
