Computer Science Department: Professional Development Review
On the afternoon of December 23, all teachers of the Computer Science Department had a meeting on professional development in Yifu Building. Mao Lili, the head teacher of the department, hosted the meeting.
In the first part of the conference, Wu Yiming gave a speech. He introduced the current situation of ninth-grade students learning Python. He said that the students have a good programming foundation and most students also have a good grasp of data structures involved in programming. In the future, teachers need to further think about how the ninth-grade curriculum can pave the way for the tenth and eleventh grades.
Then, He Tianzhou introduced how to strengthen academic integrity education among high-school students. For example, through several case studies, teachers can let students know which behaviors involve academic integrity issues or may cause academic plagiarism.
Next, Mao Lili and Wang Yajuan introduced the implementation of the new curriculum standards and new textbooks in the school. Under the new curriculum standard, teachers need to think about how to interpret the new curriculum standard and should pay more attention to project-based learning (PBL) and the cultivation of students' problem-solving abilities.
In the last part of the meeting, everyone exchanged views on the development and implementation of the course in the new semester. In the meeting, everyone contributed actively, which made all feel it's a fruitful and inspiring professional development.
