Grade 12: College Application Counseling Activities

December 16, 2020

On December 9th, during CAS class, the senior students engaged in a series of activities targeting theRegular Decision (RD)round of college applications that will come to an end in early January.

During the first period, students engaged in a conversation with their homeroom teachers about their RD applications. From a review of the college lists for the RD round, to suggestions on the writing of supplements, to advice for maintaining the right rhythm during the application system, the aim was to put a check on the students’ application statuses. After the consultation, the students had a clearer picture of their future college application.

For the second period, the school invited admissions officers from Ohio State University, Michigan State University, the University of Minnesota, and the University of Durham, respectively, to hold online information sessions which introduced students to the universities as possible additions to their applications. Students chose one out of the four options to attend the information session; after the session, the students had a deeper understanding of the university of their choice.
