Pudong Grade 4: Silk Road Trading Activity

How will it look like when the Silk Road is brought into the school? During PG class on December 10th, an interesting geography activity called Silk Road Trading Game was held in the 4th grade of the SHSID Pudong campus. Before the activity commenced, the teachers created an area by rearranging the chairs in the classroom. Meanwhile, they also explained the rules of the game to the 4th graders. With guidance from the teachers, every student set up their spot representing a city on the Silk Road and traded goods with adjacent cities. During the game, the teachers played the part of “war” and “plague” which plundered properties and impeded trade on the Silk Road. Through this meaningful activity, not only did the students see the rise of the Silk Road and understand the convenience it brought to people, but they also trained their communication ability, decision-making ability, and risk management.
