G8: Service Learning Program Sci Academy

December 3, 2020

On Dec. 4th, Sci Academy recently released a mind-blowing video called: Introduction to Phobias, created by the 8th-grade section of Sci Academy. If you followed Sci Academy Subscriptions, you probably noticed the new lecture series about to be released (11 videos involved).

But WHAT IS SCI ACADEMY? What is SO SPECIAL about the 8th graders?

Sci Academy is a group of students who are very enthusiastic about science and are curious about the world around us. Team members come up with interesting questions such as, why do we yawn? How do personalities form? And so on. Sci Academy is a group of people who are willing to share their ideas and present them to their peers and the public. The students love to challenge themselves to make entertaining and informative videos. When team members think of a thought-provoking scientific question, they go and research it. Then, they use what they have learned to produce a video and post it on social media.

What makes the 8th-grade section different from others? They jumped out of the field of biology and stepped into the fields of psychology and neurology. They created a full lecture series on clinical psychology and received massive amounts of credits. The videos posted online have over one hundred eighty thousand views on Bilibili, and over ten thousand users have subscribed to the channel at the peak of success.

Despite all of these milestones that Sci Academy achieved together, the team is still working hard to make our SL group even better.

That is the power of knowledge and Service Learning!
