Grade 10: Persistence Is the Key to Success

During the P&B Assembly on November 25, Nina from 10(8) shared her experience playing piano, and shared several tips with her peers about overcoming various challenges in life and the value of playing a musical instrument.

She spent time talking about everything from her starting to play piano at a young age and gradually taking it more seriously as time went on, and how it led to her practicing several hours every day for an entire week, over and over again, until her fingers bled. The result: her making it all the way to level ten at Shanghai Conservatory of Music, a remarkable feat for a 15-year-old student.

However, contrary to popular belief, Nina stated that the main reason for her success was persistence and hard work, not talent, because talent can only take you so far. She left her peers with a quote that worth remembering: “Achievement does not come easily, and persistence is the key to success.”
