Grade 6: Rubik's Cube Competition
The Rubik’s Cube Competition at SHSID was a close and fascinating event. During November 23rd and 24th, nearly 50 competitors and many more spectators flocked to attend the event. For more than a month, some sixth graders have been invested in solving the cubes as quickly as they can, ultimately sparking the idea for the competition. The students solved the cubes with lightning speed as all finished with very close times to each other. For the slower students, there was a bit of disappointment but also excitement in the air. The competitors gave it their all and gave us such a wonderful experience in the Rubik’s Cube Competition!
Our fastest time of the competition was by Chingmo from 6(2), who solved the cube in 17 seconds! Next, in second place was Rainn from class 6(8) with a close finish of 20 seconds. Finally, third place was taken by Tom from 6(6) with 30 seconds, followed closely by Jeffrey from 6(2) with 31 seconds. While we want to congratulate all the winners above, we most want to thank all the competitors who tried their best and gave it their all. Also, we should thank our amazing judges and the teachers who organized the wonderful event. The competition was such a fantastic experience, and I encourage everyone to also try out for it next time.
