Grade 8: “Connect Five”Competition

November 26, 2020

The field trip originally scheduled in November was canceled due to COVID-19. Instead, eighth grade held a “Connect Five” board game competition over the last two weeks. All students were encouraged to join. First, each class held an individual competition to determine the winner of the class. Everyone was excited about the competition and cheered for the competitors. People crowded around the game board and excitedly watched the “battle” between two classmates each trying to link five pieces together. Finally, after rounds of competition, each class chose their winner to compete against those from other classes. The finals were held during all the lunch periods of the entire week. The winners from each class came to compete to be the champion of the grade. At last, after many rounds of competition, Richard Yu from 8(2) won first place.

As a winning player said, “Connect Five is a game that tests your observation and strategical thinking, and sometimes even luck. A careless move will lose the game.”
