Grade 11: Balancing Study and Interest

November 17, 2020

On November 12th, juniors gathered in the Xianmian Annex as usual for the Thursday morning Assembly.

Ariel Qiu from Class 11(1) shared her approach to balancing academic studies with her extracurricular interest in dancing. Ariel developed a strong interest in dance in her early years. She has tried various dances and participated in many competitions and performances. However, as the intensity of school academics increased, she had to devote less time to dancing. In response, she strengthened her time management and self-discipline to gain time for her own interest and self-development. She told her classmates to schedule time in advance, identify areas for study and rest, and set up some reward and punishment mechanisms for themselves.

During this sharing, students gained confidence from their peer that a balance between academic study and pursuit of interest can be achieved through committed time management.
