The International Junior Science Olympiad (IJSO) is a science competition that covers physics, chemistry, and biology. The aim of this competition is to challenge, stimulate, and encourage gifted students to further develop their talents in the natural sciences.

Seven students passed the First Round of IJSO China and then spent weeks preparing for the final round. The studying process was exhausting, but they have surely gained an abundance of knowledge through this experience. They took tests as individuals and then completed an experimental design test in teams. For the individual test, SHSID had four bronze prize winners and three silver prize winners. For the team test, SHSID had one team obtain the bronze prize.

Furthermore, two students, Leo Lu and Ethan Li, qualified as finalists for the Chinese national team. They received their certificates on November 13th.

These four days were intense, but the seven SHSID contestants made significant gains in their scientific knowledge. They also practiced working as a team and exploring science together through the scientific method. It was truly an unforgettable experience.
