Mole Day? Molecule Day!

October 26, 2020

To commemorates Avogadro's Number in Chemistry, the mole day’s celebration activity was held on October 23 during lunch time around the Zhentao building. Students would wonder “Oh, this is another mole day as usual” as the first impact, however, this year’s mole day was so special that it was combined with the Bit Day and turned to be an interdisciplinary festival. Students felt the spark of collision between chemical elements and computer applications once they stepped into the splendid feast of interaction between the two disciplines.

The series of celebration activities were all designed by students this year including scan-venger hunt, decoding game, number transfer game, sorting algorithm dancing, fun chemistry experiments, periodic song and pseudocode. The fun chemistry experiments activity was the one of the most popular celebrations: students performed the experiments of invisible ink, helium balloon, and elephant toothpastes as they preferred. With the lovely T-shirt designed by students for all the computer and chemistry teachers, teachers from both Computer and Chemistry department also experienced a happy molecule day with all the students.
