Grade 11: The English Speech Contest Introduction

On October 22, juniors were seated in Xianmian Annex for their weekly morning Assembly. Ms. Gordon introduced the English speech contest that is going to take place after the mid-term exams. This semester, all students will first participate in the English Writing Competition under the topic: “Why Should I Care?” Students will need to explain why a topic of their choice is important, persuading others that it matters. The aim of the competition is to give students the opportunity to illustrate their writing skills and demonstrate their knowledge of a particular person, concept, topic, or global issue in a unique way. For the convenience of the students, the school has omitted the video submission round of the English Speech Contest, which will occur after the English Writing Competition. Ms. Gordon encouraged all students to participate actively and seize the opportunity to demonstrate and show their skills in these two related competitions.
