Grade 8: Basketball Games

October 23, 2020

Recently, eighth grade enjoyed the long-awaited basketball competition. Students from the poster group drew the outline of the first round of games to keep track of the process.

The preliminary matches were held on Tuesday and Wednesday of Sports Week. Although the class teams eliminated in the first round left the basketball competition early, they did not forget the sportsmanship mantra: “if you participate in sports, sometimes failure is also a kind of sportsmanship.”

The basketball players were strong and skillful. Class eight and class nine teams beat their opponents and entered the next round of competition. As the competition progressed, the games became more intense. After a hard game, class nine won and the students cheered and yelled. It rained heavily on Thursday when the final round of the competition took place. However, the students still went to the basketball court to see the match. Everyone arrived as scheduled to enthusiastically watch the final game between class nine and class ten. Before that, class ten had already defeated class five, another strong team. If class ten won the game, they would become the champions. That was probably why all the players of class ten were full of energy. One of the players fought until the last moment, even after he got injured. After the breathtaking competition, class ten won the championship! The following Tuesday class five and class nine competed for the runner-up prize. After the competition, class nine won second place and class five became the second runner-up.

Whether they won or not, the students all still gained a new understanding of sportsmanship.
