Grade 11: Duke of Edinburgh Award Adventure Journey Sharing

September 29, 2020

On the morning of September 24th, the teachers and students of 11th Grade gathered in the Xianmian Building Annex Auditorium for a weekly Assembly. After four weeks through this semester, the students have already adapted to the pace of study and arrived timely.

After reemphasizing some important campus rules, the grade supervisor, Ms. Yu Zhen, carefully reminded the students about some upcoming standardized examinations. Next, three students came to the stage to share their experiences of participating in the Duke of Edinburgh Award Adventure Journey. A team of seven girls completed a four-day 40-kilometer hike in Xi'an in January this year, without the help of any electronic products, while carrying a twenty-kilogram bag. The students shared some survival skills they learned in the process and the unique perspective of watching satellite maps in Xi'an. They hoped that more students try participating in such activities which strengthen their physical and mental fitness while learning knowledge and skills outside of classrooms.
