Grades 11-12: Club Fair 2020

September 15, 2020

Rich and varied club activities have always been an important part of SHSID life. At noon on September 10th, the students in Grades 11 and 12 hosted the annual Club Fair. Some of the clubs have already been established for years—including STEM Doges, Debate Club, and Longyin Club. Many more are newly-founded clubs offering a variety of novel activities and experiences.

The Club Fair kicked off around 12:30 p.m. with the exciting musical performance from Big Band. The colorful mix of the different styles of music perfectly reflected the diversity displayed in the club fair. Many of the clubs that were present were centered around academics and offered preparation aid for highly-valued competitions. The Chemistry Club’s fascinating experiments were a highlight of the event. Besides, plenty of clubs were centered on charity. For many SHSID students, doing what they can to help those in need is an important part of their student lives. AIM Club, for instance, helps children with autism through building a friendly and supportive community. AN Club earns funds through selling crafts, hand-made by the club members, and donates the money earned to give support and comfort to the sick children hospitalized. The clubs all showcased the diversity of the SHSID student body.

After the last club performance, the Club Fair came to a closure. Let us all look forward to the next exciting activity the school and its students have to offer.
