On the afternoon of June 30th, Shanghai High School International Division and East China University of Science and Technology (ECUST) Computational Chemistry Center signed cooperative agreements on student research training in the Conference Room of SHS Office Building.

The ceremony was attended by Mr. Ma Feng, SHSID High School Principal; Ms. Liu Min, SHSID High School Vice Principal; Ms. Zhang Li, SHSID High School Principal’s Assistant; Mr. Sun Hao, head of SHSID Chemistry Department; Mr. Liao Hui, SHSID High School STEM Advisor; and Ms. Liu Jialong, IB Chemistry teacher of SHSID. The Computational Chemistry Center was represented by Prof. Gong Xueqing, President of the Graduate School, ECUST; Associate Prof. Cao Xiaoming, President of the Sino-German College of Technology, ECUST; and Ms. Liu Huihui, General Office Director of the Chemistry Center, ECUST. Mr. Sun Hao hosted the ceremony.

After the brief introduction of guests from both sides, Mr. Ma and Prof. Gong signed the cooperation agreement together. Professor Gong introduced the history and achievements of the Computational Chemistry Center, ECUST. It was established in September 2013, led by Prof. Hu, Peijun, a member of the Royal Irish Academy, and run by capable and energetic researchers. The research interests of the Computational Chemistry Center mainly cover frontier inter-disciplinary topics in areas such as energy and environment. Advanced information technology including machine learning, big data analysis, high performance parallel computing was used to perform calculations on energy catalysis, simulation of material structure properties and design and screening of composite catalyst.
