Grade 9: Freshman Project Presentation

May 12, 2020

On May 6, Katherine from Class 9(4) shared her group's freshman project. Their team is named PERSONA, which came from the Greek word “mask”, and it represents the aspect of someone's character that is presented to or perceived by others. The topic of their research is "Modern Day Adolescents Mental Conditions ". The reasons for choosing this topic are: Firstly, mental conditions of the new generation are closely connected to the future of the society. By researching this topic, they can get a better understanding of peers. Secondly, many people still lack knowledge about mental health. Many teenagers tend to ignore issues associated with mental conditions of students due to certain overwhelming pressure, especially hidden problems that cannot be easily noticed. In view of this background, Katherine's team summarized seven major issues and conducted a survey by Wenjuanxing. They collected the data and concluded from the data that people often lack communication, awareness, resources and education when facing mental problems, so they hope that society can give more care and attention to mental health.
