Grade 11: MFP Club Noontime Music Salon
During lunch time on November 22nd, in the lobby of the Xian Mian Building Annex, there was a musical performance that warmed up the atmosphere. The MFP (Music for People) Club staged their first Noontime Music Salon performance this semester.
The first vocal performance was of Alan Walker’s song,Darkside, during which Ailyn attracted massive attention with her unique voice. Subsequently, musical performances using different instruments had a strong appeal to the audience. Wiley’s trombone performance ofRomance and Scherzo, Lucy’s saxophone performance ofTake Five, and Chelsea’s clarinet performance ofJazz Suitefurther received praise from nearby students and teachers. Connie and Claire fully demonstrated their cooperative spirit, staging an ensemble of flute and violin. Grace's violin solo,Spring Sonata, gave all watching a strong sense of spring. Interestingly, William’s solo vocal piece ofCaro mio benattracted the biggest crowd with his unique and confident voice. Last, Kingsley delivered a perfect ending for this music salon with a piece of Schubert'sImpromptuwith a graceful and beautiful melody.
Ms. Liu Qin, the Director of Student Affairs Center, Mr. Li Xin, the instructor of the school Wind Ensemble, and Mr. Zhang Dongsheng and Dr. Zhou Dandan, the homeroom teachers of Class 11(1) and (2) were present to cheer and encourage the students. Before the music salon, Ms. Zhang Yueyue, the Grade Supervisor and advisor of the MFP Club, and Kingsley Poon, the founder and President of the club, presented the volunteer service certificate of Shanghai Children's Medical Center to the members who actively participated in various activities of the club in the last academic year.
After the music salon was over, the sound still lingered as if the music was still reverberating in the lobby of the Annex of Xian Mian Building. Club members aim to stage an even better performance next time and they hope their music can create a comfortable and happy atmosphere for students, inspire more students to take up musical hobbies, and create a warm and sweet campus together.
