Pudong Grade 4-5: Visiting the Nursing Home at SIMC—A Compassionate ASB Activity

ASB students from fourth and fifth grade enjoyed a trip to the nursing home at Shanghai International Medical Center (SIMC) on Tuesday, November 19. There, they received great hospitality, as guests offered them fruits and entertained them with a small piano concerto. In return, they offered their own talents in entertainment by performing two pieces of classical piano for the guests. Both the students and the guests were happy for the other’s presence and kindness. Many of the students offered further gifts to the residents in the form of carefully created origami, cookies, and cupcakes. The ASB students worked diligently to prepare both their talents and their treats for the guests.

After the entertainment and the sweets, the hospital offered a free course to the students on emergency CPR, where they each took turns practicing the routines surrounding the administration of CPR. The staff at the hospital were considerate and generous in their support for our students, and the ASB members were equally enthusiastic and respectful in their awareness and attitude.
