G5: Dunhuang - China’s Cabinet of Antiquities

On November 13th, in Chinese class, the fifth grade students went to the primary school auditorium to listen to a speech on Dunhuang by Mr. Tian. Mr Tian told the students about many ancient artifacts in Dunhuang. Throughout the speech, the students learned about the different ways to create sculptures, using either wood and cement, or carving into the mountain face itself. The students also saw a variety of paintings, such as “The King of Deer,” which is the original inspiration for the cartoon “A Deer with Nine Colors”.

Throughout the lecture, the students all appreciated the color and beauty of the enormous amount of antiquities in Dunhuang. It is really a collection of great antiquities!
