Grade 11: Assembly -- Award Ceremony for Honor Students & Aromatherapy Lecture
An inspiring award ceremony for the 2018 Honor Students of all disciplines initiated this week’s Grade 11 assembly. These awards included Scholar in English, Scholar in P.E., Scholar in Math, etc. The teacher proudly announced the winning students, who walked up to the stage amongst warm applause from the audience. These students received certificates and took a memorable photo with a big smile on their faces. This was followed by a short speech by Ms. Zhang Yueyue, who encouraged students to work hard this year.
This week’s student presentation was about The National Association for Holistic Aromatherapy, a rather intriguing topic that attracted the students’ attention. The lecturer started off with some basic information about aromatherapy and then outlined the functions of some common aromas. The audience was able to engage closely with the topic, because she handed out a small paper with essential oil on it to every row. She also introduced how to obtain an official aromatherapy qualification, which is broken up into different levels. Potential careers involving aromatherapy include aromatherapist and flavor specialist.
This presentation is a perfect example of how students should develop and pursue their passion—no matter how uncommon it is—because you never know if that passion will develop into a career.
