Reading Month Begins in November

November is Reading Month for all the primary students at SHSID. The primary teachers have prepared a series of great activities related to reading during the month, such as DEAR (Drop Everything And Read) and a visit from the author ofDogman, Mr. Dav Pilkey. Lastly, the students will participate in a ‘Read-a-thon’, a reading race to light up the students’ enthusiasm for reading. The teachers have tried their best to encourage students to develop a reading habit in their daily lives. Over the course of this month, many parents were pleasantly surprised to find out that their children had spent a lot of time reading, and the students enjoyed talking about the books they read with their parents.

An ice-cream party will be waiting for all the students who have reached their 520-minute reading target over the month as a reward at the end of this month. Hopefully SHSID students will enjoy reading throughout their entire lives.
