Pudong G1: Be a Bucket Filler!

October 27, 2019

On Oct. 22nd, the grade one students at SHSID Pudong Campus learned about being a “Bucket Filler” in their PG class. To find out what a Bucket Filler is, the students read the storybook “How Full Is Your Bucket?” with their teachers.

We all carry an invisible bucket. This bucket contains our feelings. When our bucket is full, we feel great; when it’s empty, we feel bad. From this story, the students all learned that a Bucket Filler is someone who says or does nice things to make others feel special. After reading the story, the first graders were given some empty cards to write down kind words to each other. When teachers read out these caring cards from the bucket where they were placed, the children all felt happy and cheerful. By doing this, they were filling other people’s buckets and filling their own bucket at the same time.

At the end of the class, everyone became a joyful Bucket Filler. Bucket filling makes everyone feel good and makes our school a better place! Let’s be Bucket Fillers today and every day!
