Puxi Grade 3: Story Mom------Duck on a Bike

On October 23rd, in the Personal Growth class, the Story Moms visited again! This time, they brought us the story,Duck on a Bike:a book by well-known American illustrator and author David Shannon. In the story, the duck riding a bike met lots of animals on its journey. Some animals showed admiration towards the duck, others showed disdain and some of them laughed at the duck. In the end, the animals followed the duck and tried to ride the bike. All of the animals had a great time! To consolidate understanding, some kids even wore masks and worked together to create and perform a short play!

After the story, the Story Moms engaged the kids in a wonderful discussion on the importance of finding a balance between hard work, rest and play. The Story Moms also reminded everyone of the difference between “bravery” and “impulsiveness”, and to think twice before doing something. This vivid story has encouraged the students to have confidence and express themselves. No matter what difficulties we come across in life, staying positive is key!
