Race to Shanghai IFC

October 24, 2019

On October 20th, two teams of SHSID students ran in the Race to Shanghai IFC charity run. These eight students ran a total of 1,460 stairs up the IFC tower.

At the blow of starting horn at 10:15, the first runners began the first segment of the relay race, running up 15 flights of stairs while holding the baton—a pink ribbon. When the first runners passed the pink ribbon to the next runners, who would run 20 flights of stairs, they were given water, some food, and a place to rest. All they needed to do now was to cheer on their three other teammates, who had 50 more flights of stairs to go, hoping that they would, too, persist and finish the race.

Around 20 minutes later, the race was finished, and everyone gathered again at the starting point. The runners took pictures with the SHSID flag, recording this valuable and meaningful experience. The runners all look forward to the next exciting event!
