G7: Tug-of-War Competition

October 21, 2019

The students once again gathered on the basketball court but moved to the smaller one. A long rope was on the floor, and a tub of gloves to its side. Mr. Sonnefeldt put yellow tape on the ground, marking the place where the middle of the rope must be for the team to win.

The first match was an exciting kick-off. 7(10) and 7(5) clashed. 7(5) had three key people injured or busy, so favour was leaning on 7(10)’s side. At the start, 7(10) was losing… but oh! 7(10) pulled even harder and uprooted 7(5)’s steady feet. 7(10) won!

The competition came in favour of 7(9). In the semi-finals, they beat 7(10), the past champions, and they eventually beat 7(4), making them this year’s champions, who beat 7(11) and took second place. Some classes were happy that 7(9) won, but some were not.

The students pulled with all their might and tried their best. The students had a great time and all participated. Most of the classes were disappointed over their losses but got over it very quickly.

When the competition was over, the students all watched movies in their homerooms. The movies were nice and the students had a good time.
