Grade 4: Lecture on Peking Opera

During second period on October 16th, Mr. Song Zihao from Yuyin Club gave a lecture on Peking Opera to the fourth-grade students in the auditorium of the primary building.

Mr. Song discussed how Peking Opera changed him. It helped him overcome his timidity and become courageous, which elevated the students' interest. Mr. Song also discussed topics such as the main roles in Peking Opera, the process of face-painting and the meaning of each color, the four skills and five techniques, etc. The lecture was accompanied by videos and demonstrations by Mr. Song, which the students greatly enjoyed. The content of the lecture is also related to the upcoming Chinese lesson "Battle of Chibi". Mr. Song introduced Liu Bei, Zhuge Liang, Zhou Yu, showed how they looked in Peking Opera, and played a clip of the opera as well.

Finally, under the guidance of Mr. Song, the children carried out the single action exercise, “lifting the armor and the arms”. The students learned a lot and experienced the charm of Peking Opera.
