High School Sports Meet

On Thursday, October 17, 2019, students of SHSID experienced another successful Sports Meet. Even the weather turned out to be sunny and suitable for sports despite a forecast of rain.

First, each class marched along the track field and positioned themselves in front of the crowd. They then presented passionate performances for the audience, who seemed to love the show judging from their thunderous applause and high-pitched screams. As they performed, each class also presented their assigned topics. After the students completed their march and performances, they cleared the stage for the teachers’ performance. Accompanied by the song Y.M.C.A., the teachers began their impressively choreographed dance celebrating the 70th anniversary of the People’s Republic of China. The crowd cheered and shouted; everyone was glad to see their favorite teachers out on the stage.

After this wonderful performance ended, it was time for the most exciting part of the Sports Meet—track and field competitions. The students competed in races such as the 100-meter dash, 200-meter dash, 400-long run, 1500-meter long run, and 4 X 100-meter run, in which students competed against each other while representing their classes. The excitement spread through the audience as they roared for victory and yelled supportively to their classmates. Apart from running, there were events like long-jump, high-jump, shot put, and cheerleading competition.

What a wonderful day it was! Everyone participated in games and activities and were rewarded for their efforts. We hope everyone is proud of their performances of the day.
