Grade 11: IB Students Completed TOK Project Exhibition

October 12, 2019

September 24, 2019 – Students completed the TOK Project Exhibition (Theory of Knowledge) class. Indeed, TOK is a strange subject to learn. It teaches you different ways to answer the very central question: "how do we know"?

In our daily lives, there are countless instances when we encounter problems that we need to think about in several dimensions. For example, how do you define accuracy and simplicity? Is there always a trade-off between accuracy and simplicity in knowledge? In the picture above, you will see creative examples of students' work. The assignment was to use an unusual and creative mapping style—which could be anything, like a game or an analogy—to map a specific area of knowledge.

Overall, the map gallery project was a test of students' ability to apply ways of knowing to create a piece of creative work that could clearly explain to an audience unfamiliar with TOK concepts about a particular area of knowledge.
