Grade 4: Math Scavenger Hunt

October 8, 2019

During the math class on September 29th and 30th, the fourth graders had a Math Scavenger Hunt in their classroom.

"Saving the Zoo" was the theme of the game. Students needed to put escaped animals back into enclosures by solving math problems. The grade-four teachers prepared different sets of cards in advance, each with a math problem on it. The cards were hidden in every corner of the classroom. Students could only get clues for the next problem by solving the problem on the previous card. Each class was divided into five groups, each appointed a different color. Only by solving all the problems in 40 minutes could they successfully "save the zoo".

The grade-four students really enjoyed this interesting math activity. Sometimes they came together, racking their brains to think about the answer; sometimes they were active in the classroom, trying to find the next question card. The Math Scavenger Hunt not only sharpened the students’ problem-solving ability, but also provided them with a lot of fun.
