Puxi Grade 2: Keep the Egg Safe!

Second grade used the Fusion Science program to learn about technology!

Students read in their textbooks that one way we can use technology is to help keep us safe, so students attempted to apply this knowledge in a hands-on experiment. Each class used a design process to plan and create a helmet for an egg! The goal was to create a protective covering that kept the egg safe and prevented it from breaking.

Students enjoyed the experiment, celebrating or yelling in agony as their eggs were either successfully or unsuccessfully protected by their designs. While this was an exciting activity that had students laughing, it also encouraged them to think about how scientists test and redesign their experiments. This activity was a great way to apply knowledge learnt in textbooks to real-life situations.
