Grade 8:Youth Development Class - Stress Management
On the afternoon of September 26th, in the two sessions of Youth Development class, the eighth-grade students took a class on stress management. After entering eighth grade, students have a physics class, a variety of after-school clubs, and service learning programs. While enjoying the exuberant and diverse campus life, students will face various challenges, such as how to learn more effectively, how to cope with stress, and how to deal with their relationships with friends and family.
In the sixth class, the students watched a video about how to better train their memory, and through the video students learned a lot of effective memory enhancing skills. After the video, the students also participated in a small game to exercise their memory. Enhanced memory skills can help students learn and remember more effectively, thereby proliferating efficiency and diminishing stress.
In the seventh class, the classrooms each became an emotional adjustment station with each classroom representing one of the six different themes. Among the six stations, some gave students experience in working under high stimulus environments, some showed students how music and coloring can help them release their stress, and some discussed how students could communicate more effectively with parents and friends. Students can enter different classrooms in order and experience the different themes.
The teachers hoped that through this stress management class, students can learn to face various pressures, learn to effectively deal with and relieve stress, and turn pressure into a driving force for progress.
