Grade 7: Science Lecture

September 25, 2019

On September 19th, students came to the Primary Section’s auditorium to hear a lecture from Ms. Gao of the Chinese Academy of Sciences. She talked about nutrition: a topic that relates to everyone every day. Ms. Gao used many real-life examples.

Ms. Gao talked about the importance of nutrition and used the example that twins who receive different amounts of nutrients may have very different health outcomes when they grow up. She told us that we need to pay attention to our diet and showed us the amount of nutrition needed each day. The age students are at now is when they need the greatest number of important nutrients, such as carbohydrates. We may think it won’t make a big difference, but it will impact our growth. Many diseases are caused by a lack of nutrients.

The students all paid attention to the presentation and now take their diets more seriously. We are very honored to have had the Chinese Academy of Sciences teacher give us this presentation.
