College Open Information Sessions - New York University and University of Southern California
On the morning of September 19th, admission officers from New York University and the University of Southern California came to the campus of Shanghai High School International Division to host an information session. During the information session, both admission officers discussed the major highlights and features of each university, including academic resources, research opportunities, internship and career centers, the diversity of students, and varied extracurricular activities. New York University specifically mentions its advantageous geographical location in New York City that promises multitudes of opportunities and benefits. Campuses in Abu Dhabi and Shanghai also add diversity and global perspective to the school. In addition, the University of Southern California provides plentiful academic resources in numerous schools, with its School of Communication and Journalism being one of its strongest strengths and focuses. Then, the admission officers offered a detailed process of the holistic review of the applicants, including test requirements, personal statements, essays, and financial aid. Finally, the admission officers patiently answered the more detailed questions of many students who are passionate about both universities. The admission officers were also kind enough to provide students with many one-to-one Q&A opportunities.
