Pudong Grade 3: Growth Mindset Vs. Fixed Mindset

September 24, 2019

During the Personal Growth class on Sep. 20th, the third-grade teachers at Pudong campus taught the students how to foster a growth mindset.

Mindsets play an important role in students’ lives. A Growth mindset can encourage the students to face problems with a positive attitude, like changing “I don’t understand” to “What am I missing,” or “I'll never be as smart as her” into “I'm going to figure out what she does and try it.” Switching a fixed mindset to growth mindset can motivate students to use different ways to look at problems. After the lesson, the third-grade students shared different cases in which they could use a growth mindset. Moreover, they said they would be more confident the next time they faced challenges.
