Grade 10: A Fruitful Parents Meeting

In order to help the parents of grade 10 students have a better understanding about the curricula, course selection, and important arrangements of grade 10-12, Shanghai High School International Division held a parents meeting with curriculum introduction for grade 10 on September 12, 2019.

The first section of the meeting occurred in the XianMian Annex Auditorium. To start the meeting, Principal Ma Feng warmly welcomed the arrival of all the parents, thanked them for their support to the school, and introduced the high school’s general goals. Next, Director of College Counseling, Zhang Li introduced the counseling service and high school activities offered through high school. Following her, Ms. Jiang Hao introduced the AP and IB curriculum, and, lastly, Mr. Max Slonim introduced the creative courses provided in high school.

The second section of the parents’ meeting was held in the ZhenTao building, where different subject teachers explained the grade 10-12 curricula and held Q&A sessions in their own assigned rooms. Through this inquiry, the parents gained a better understanding of the high school program, clearly understood the courses in grade 10 and their implications and were better able to prepare their grade 10 students for future course selection. Held on the eve of the Mid-Autumn Festival, the parents meeting was a great success thanks to the hard work of the teachers and the support and understanding of the parents.
