Grade 12: Senior Scholarship Awards Ceremony

On the morning of 6 September, 2019, SHSID held its annual Scholarship Awards Ceremony in the Xianmian Building Auditorium. The proceeding was attended by Principal Ma Feng, Principal assistant Ms. Zhang Li, and director of students’ affairs center Ms. Liu Qin, IB/AP coordinator Ms. Jiang Hao, as well as Grade 11 students and subject teachers. The recipients of three main award categories made their way onto the stage: Principal’s List, Social Activity Award, and Academic Achievement Award, respectively. These students had gone through the application and presentation rounds to achieve their awards, indicating the depth and breadth of their accomplishments in the past school year. At the same time, students were presented Individual Outstanding Awards to recognize their dedication to specific fields of study or talent. Awards were given to students who excelled in different academic subjects, such as History, Psychology, and Mathematics, and also sports and music.

Outside the auditorium, it was pouring rain and bellowing thunder, but the unfortunate weather only amplified the coziness of the SHSID community and the spirit of its gifted student body. Students cheered on their classmates and urged the ones who were late due to the rain to hurry onstage—a heartwarming display of kindness and support that symbolized the school’s commitment to inclusivity and well-being.
