Puxi Grade 1-5: Opening Ceremony

On the morning of September 2nd, all the primary students from SHSID’s Puxi Campus returned to school. During the Opening Ceremony for Primary Section, the old students and teachers warmly welcomed all the new first graders with hearty applause and cheers. All the students then watched a video highlighting some of the exciting activities of last semester. Everyone was immersed in meaningful school memories.

Four student representatives then made wonderful speeches: Stephen from 2(4), Dorothy from 2(1), Jenny from 3(6) and Norman from 3(2). Later on, the principal and vice principal of Middle School and Primary Section, Mr. Liu and Ms. Bao, as well as the director for Primary Section, Ms. Zhang, encouraged every primary student to be a ‘Hero’ with a kind and noble heart. All the teachers believe that each primary student will be successful in this new school year.

The Opening Ceremony ended with a finale: the “Twelve Stars” Prize Presentation. When all the new first graders saw the second and third graders standing proudly on the stage, they felt encouraged and motivated by their superiors.

During the afternoon of September 2nd, the Grade 4 and Grade 5 Opening Ceremony was held. The teachers and students first watched videos reviewing the events of last semester. Secondly, Sophie from class 4(6) and Erin from class 5(1) shared some of the wonderful experiences they had last year. Then, Ms. Zhu Dan, the director of Grade 4 and 5, presented the new semester expectations and blessings to the students. She hopes that students will work hard, be humble, smile, be respectful and get involved. Vice principal Bao Guohong of SHSID Middle School and Primary Section asked each student to, “Be a better you. Be yourself in a better way.” Mr. Liu Lian, the principal of SHSID Middle School and Primary Section, also gave an inspiring speech to all the teachers and students.

Next came the exciting award ceremony. The teachers announced the “Twelve Stars” of fourth grade, the scholarship winners of fifth grade and the “Excellent Class” results of last semester. The Opening Ceremony marks a brand-new start. Every student and teacher will move ahead with new goals, new hopes and full confidence.
