Grade 8 Service Learning Program Recruitment

On September 5th, the 8th graders officially kicked off the 2019-2020 service learning program. The service learning program aims to combine what students learn in class with community development. Through service learning, students can make contributions to society whilst achieving personal growth.

In youth development classes, students are introduced to the different service learning groups. The groups are diverse, including: Lab Assistants, who are responsible for the cleaning and protection of lab materials; Story Buddies, who tell stories to younger students; CEST, which aims to maintain the environment of the school campus; and the Radio Station group, which records stories for students who live in less developed parts of China. All together there are more than 20 service learning groups for students to choose from.

Meanwhile, students are also encouraged to found their own service learning clubs. “Service Makes Difference”, explains the core purpose of service learning—to make a difference, to learn and to develop.
