Foreign Teachers’End of 2018 School Year Summary Meeting

On the morning of June 27th, the Foreign Affairs Office organized all foreign teachers to review the second semester of 2018-2019 school year in the auditorium of Xian Mian Building. After Helen Hu thanked all the foreign teachers for their hard work this year, the leadership of each grade level shared deep appreciation for the teachers who went above-and-beyond to enhance the educational experience of their students, such as themed days in primary, club achievements of middle school, and college application preparation for high school.

The teachers then enjoyed an introduction to the PE department’s achievements over the year, including greatly expanding the football program and the success of SHSID’s football and basketball teams. The middle school explored the strategies and techniques used to make such huge progress in the MAP scores. The high school history presentation focused on the creative projects and student-centered lessons. The last presentation was from the High School English department which showcased their masterpiece of an event: MIX Day in which the teachers and students collaborated across grade levels to provide an immersive, interactive, interdisciplinary, and impressive experience.

The meeting was a celebratory reflection on the year and warm good bye for the summer.
