Puxi Grade 2 Math Teaching Team: Survey Says

For the last month, students in grade two learned about many kinds of graphs, such as line plots, bar graphs, coordinate grids, etc. They also learned how to use surveys to collect data and use graphs to reorganize data.

At the end of this semester, second grade teachers designed a math project called “Survey Says”, which asked students to design their own survey questions. They also used tally charts to collect the answers and use different charts and graphs to present data. Students used keynotes or clips to put the whole process together.

In this project, students gained the ability to graph and collect data. They also gained a deeper understanding about the application of graphs.
