Grades 9-10: Exhibition Day
Following exhaustive exams, students were able to have a CAS time with a relaxed mind. In the CAS periods on May 15th, forty-eight students from Grade 9&10 presented their well-done interdisciplinary projects for Chemistry and History (Grade 9), and Chemistry and Economics (Grade 10) to a captive audience.
There were four teams in each classroom: two tenth grade teams and two ninth grade teams. A shining example of one of the presentations was done by a ninth grade team called “Comparison Between Chemistry before the Scientific Revolution and Modern Chemistry”. They explained how George Starkey and Boyle that contributed to the growth of the field of chemistry. For a dynamic presentation they used PowerPoint as well as poster board. On their spectacular poster, they designed and attached stimulating pictures and broke down their topic in detailed. After this ninth grade presentation, a tenth grade team followed with the topic of “The Great Depression”. These students and others continued to dazzle and enlighten spectators with their posters and Power Point presentations.
Even with the challenge of torrential rain on the outdoor presentations, the students were able to complete their presentations. The event was a great success!
