Puxi Grade 5: IOWA Assessments

May 10, 2019

The fifth graders took the Math and English IOWA assessments on May 8th and May 9th. The Iowa Assessments help teachers identify a student’s strengths and areas that may need additional emphasis. This test is used to measure progress at all levels. It is our hope that it will work as a tool to target and address issues, as well as highlight strengths. It is also a crucial part of students’ goal setting and improvement process. During the testing time, students must follow the rules. They are not allowed to work on any section outside of the designated section during each time frame. If they are no longer working on the test, students can only quietly read or rest their eyes. After the IOWA test, students not only learned more about how to improve their Math and English skills, but also gained a better understanding of the rules conduct required when taking standardized tests.
